Andi invites Cyrus to The Spoon to surprise him with the good news that Buffy is back! Buffy explains that they came back because the government slashed the budget, cutting her mom's military program in Phoenix. They gave Buffy's mom a new job nearby. Cyrus celebrates the good news by ordering baby taters for everyone. Buffy starts trying to open her time capsule but can't figure it out.
Later, after a dinner at CeCe's house, Andi goes to the Andi Shack to make a new bracelet for Jonah. She tells Bex that when she had The Bracelet, it showed where she and Jonah stood in their relationship. She had given it to him to show that she likes him. And Jonah gave it back when he didn't want them to be labelled as boyfriend and girlfriend. Bex agrees and says that the bracelet was a totem, a symbol of their relationship. She says she doesn't think any other bracelet would be the same. Andi blames herself for throwing the bracelet away. At that point, Bex surprises Andi by revealing that she took The Bracelet and saved it in a small memory box dedicated to Andi.[3] Andi is beyond grateful to Bex.
The next day, Buffy is at Bex's apartment trying to open the time capsule. Andi and Bex suggest asking Bowie or Jonah to help but Buffy says she's stronger than Jonah. Andi then starts explaining that Jonah is the one who convinced them to build the time capsule. She says that Jonah even convinced the entire Jefferson Middle School Basketball Team - including TJ - to sign a team jersey for Buffy. Buffy is impressed by how much work Jonah did for her. She then asks to know what else is in the time capsule. Andi mentions shoe laces from Marty and Buffy sadly says she hopes Marty has a girlfriend. Andi confirms that Marty does have a girlfriend. After hearing about the other items in the capsule, Buffy decides that there is no need to open it. However, she still wants Jonah to come over so that Andi can give him the bracelet. Andi is shy and reluctant. So, Buffy takes charge and texts Jonah herself.
Meanwhile, Jonah has been trying out for the regional league ultimate frisbee team. He is nervous that he won't make the team but Cyrus comes to cheer him on. Cyrus wears the vest with lots of pockets he had made to supply the Space Otters Frisbee Team with water and other snacks during their games. This helps calm Jonah down. After the game, Cyrus stays by Jonah's side as he nervously waits to find out whether he made the team. Just before receiving the decision, Jonah gets a text from Buffy telling him to come see her at Bex's apartment since she's back in town. Right after, he gets a notification from the coach. He didn't make the team. Cyrus gives him a hug to show him support. Jonah and Cyrus head to Bex's apartment.
When Jonah comes over, Buffy pushes Andi to give him the bracelet. For privacy, Andi takes Jonah outside but Buffy and Cyrus eavesdrop through the window. Andi nervously takes out the bracelet and asks Jonah if he still thinks that the bracelet was a boyfriend-y - girlfriend-y thing. Jonah agrees and asks Andi if she thinks the same. She nods as she puts the bracelet on Jonah's wrist. They officially become a couple.
After watching Andi and Jonah, Cyrus says that he's happy for them but Buffy tells him that it is okay if he's not. Cyrus insists that he's genuinely happy. He reveals that his crush on Jonah is now gone. It's turned into a friendship. He explains that when he hugged Jonah earlier, he didn't feel the same way he used to feel about him. He thinks Buffy can't relate because Buffy has never had a crush, but then Buffy reveals that she actually has a new crush.
Later that evening, Andi and Bex are making dumplings with Ham when he drops a bombshell of news. He reveals that he has an upcoming trip to travel the world and see different places and cultures. He says that he and CeCe previously dreamt of selling the house and travelling together. But they had to keep the house because of Andi Shack. And now, CeCe can no longer go because she's starting a new business with Bex. But Ham can't just stay there and not follow his dreams. He says that he hasn't told CeCe about it yet. Bex and Andi urge him to drop the news to CeCe during dinner. CeCe is excited about the dinner, just before Ham changes the conversation so that he can break the news to her.
Elsewhere, Cyrus is determined to figure out who Buffy's crush is. He guesses a bunch of names but Buffy denies all of them. He tries to convince her to tell him her crush by saying that they're "crush buddies" who tell each other about their crushes and keep them a secret from everyone else. Buffy agrees and adds that they can never let anyone know - especially not Andi. At that point, Cyrus concludes that Buffy's crush is Jonah Beck. He points at a picture of Jonah in the yearbook. Buffy refuses to confirm or deny it.
