I'm nervous around everyone. Except Cyrus.
— Iris, "Hey, Who Wants Pizza?"
Iris is very nice and sweet. She is always cheerful, especially when around her friends and Cyrus. She is a caring person and feels worried for Cyrus. However, she can be like Amber in some ways, as shown when she gave Cyrus the silent treatment after their date. Iris is very shy around most people as seen in the way she is nervous around Andi and Buffy. Iris loves dinosaurs and medieval themes, a passion she shares with Cyrus.
In It's Not About You, Iris wants her and Cyrus to double-date with Amber and Jonah Beck. She is very excited to see Cyrus and thinks Cyrus is very funny. In Hey, Who Wants Pizza?, Iris joins The Good Hair Crew at The Spoon Diner so that Cyrus can formally introduce her to Andi and Buffy. Cyrus introduces Iris as "my Iris" but Iris tells him that he can call her "girlfriend". Iris is so sweet and nice that Buffy wonders why she is friends with people like Amber. Iris responds by telling them that Amber is actually really nice, once you get to know her; she's just very insecure. After noticing how shy Iris is, Buffy reminds her that she doesn't have to be shy around them because she is in high school while they're only in the seventh grade. Iris tells them that she is shy around everyone except Cyrus. After that, Iris and Cyrus spend the rest of the time acting all cute and coupley in front of Buffy, Andi and Jonah. They bond over how they have so many things in common including their love for dinosaurs and dragons. Later while walking along the street, Iris kisses Cyrus.
A few days later in "Friends Like These", Iris invites Cyrus to a movie date at her house when she's home alone. During the slightly-scary movie, Iris moves to sit closer to Cyrus and leans on him. She tells him that she feels much safer next to him. She turns the volume down and gets even more cuddly. She closes her eyes and goes in for a kiss. After realizing that Iris wants to kiss, Cyrus gives her a quick awkward kiss. Iris opens her eyes and wonders what's going on. Cyrus apologizes for the awkward kiss but Iris tells him that it's okay, it will get better with time. It won't, Cyrus says. It won't get better because he's not attracted to girls. He likes boys like Jonah Beck. But he's not ready to come out to Iris yet. So, he just leaves abruptly and awkwardly. Iris is left wondering what's really going on.
At the renaissance fair in "A Good Hair Day", Iris shows up. Cyrus and Iris talk briefly using medieval terms, and Cyrus begins to tell Iris that he no longer has feelings for her, he completes his thought and Iris reacts calmly. They end on good terms and agree to remain friends.
